Everything The Beatles | Day 223 of my 2023 Journal
We walked the streets, passed the club where the Beatles took their first steps into fame, the whole rock and roll area with live music (of varying quality), the wall of fame (and yes, it IS overwhelming how many superstars has played on the same scene), the statues in the streets, the t-shirt shops with Beatles Beatles Beatles, and the Beatles statue at Albert Dock.
Arriving in Liverpool | Day 222 of my 2023 Journal
Here begins a little bite of the road trip, just the five of us - as planned on our pausing day in Forest of Bowland. Liverpool was on the way to Stonehenge, and Stonehenge was on the bucket list. We have a dear friend from Liverpool, and we cherish the dialect.
Kendal | Day 221 of my 2023 Journal
We met Annas' family at the castle in Normandie in the spring, and we all got along very well. And it was a pleasure to visit them in Kendal, even though we had only one day to share.
Sheep, Rivers and Stone walls | Day 220 of my 2023 Journal
We stopped at the most magical and beautiful place to have lunch in the grass by the river under the trees. Literally magical. We crossed the river to walk the moss on the other side, took many photos, and enjoyed the whole thing.
Pausing day | Day 219 of my 2023 Journal
When our friends went back to Denmark, we decided to rent the lovely house for an extra day just to have some peace and quiet. Since the beginning of April, we have been surrounded by people every day, except for 3 days: 2 Driving days from Rome to Normandie and one single day in Copenhagen.
Playing Dungeons & Dragons | Day 218 of my 2023 Journal
Not many adults take the time to play. This is too bad. A D&D adventure is a great experience to share with loved ones; any game, any play pretend, any unfolding of silliness and fantasy among friends is a beautiful energy to unleash.
They can simply not cook in England | Day 217 of my 2023 Journal
Visiting Great Britain, we thought: let's go visit a tearoom. Asking around, the best tearoom in the area was supposedly the PuddleDuck Tearoom. Eating lunch out would free time to play D&D all morning on a rainy day. It seemed like a good plan.
Almost Scotland | Day 216 of my 2023 Journal
I will let the pictures speak for themselves. There is not much more to say. Walking for several hours with my family and my friends in this beauty was, of course, a blessing.
Out and back - a good long walk in the mud | Day 215 of my 2023 Journal
We all had the feeling we were walking in the Shire. Beauty unfolds all the time, new angles, new hills, new beautiful horizons and small details, flowers and totes, and sheep and cows and birds.

It can not wait; we are leaving soon. Living nomadically gives you a sense of urgency. It wakes you up and forces you to decide and revise what is more important. And why. It pushes us to stay focused, ensuring we always do what is most important.
Hiking in the rain | Day 213 of my 2023 Journal
What is a good life? What makes us happy? How do we succeed in doing the things that make for a good life and make us happy? Hiking in the rain, changing the plan, and coping with dogs on leashes and cars passing can be a success, even if we imagined something else. It is all about mindset and about knowing our why.
Transition day | Day 212 of my 2023 Journal
It is not very interesting to drive on a highway in the rain, slowly, because of road construction. One of the delays was a 27 minutes queue deriving from a parked road construction vehicle on the side and people having to drive around it. Seriously! And the rain. What is going on with this English summer?!
Footpaths and barefoot walking | Day 211 of my 2023 Journal
There is something about the footpaths in England. At some point, a law was installed to protect the paths, allowing everyone to walk on the established paths. This means there are thousands of paths through fields and along and through other sorts of private land, making England very open to enjoy for everyone.
Bradgate park | Day 210 of my 2023 Journal
Watching Britain in a park. The different people, their vibes and styles, and projects. I love to look at people. I was amused by observing most of them still had their shoes on in the water. Where I come from, everyone would take them off.
Running alongside a train | Day 209 of my 2023 Journal
It is not like the world will stop spinning until I am done thinking. Wouldn’t that be nice, though? If the planet would please stop spinning, the inner processes give us a break when we need to sit down and THINK.

Sinead O Conor died. Fjord's best friend called. When we finally went for a little walk, the rain started again. We shared the wash. Discussed shampoo. Met new people. Did two podcast recordings back to back. Organized the van a bit. Tried yeast-extract Marmite Style.
The Weekly Walk habit | Day 206 of my 2023 Journal
Walk and talk is just as perfect together as dahl and rice or sunshine and beach. Here are some observations on England as we walked there, some thoughts on unschooling as we walked with two other unschooling families and my whispering intention to try to build a real habit.
